Liana’s Dream Foundation (LDF) was founded by Franco Cianci and Caterina Monticciolo in 2013 after their daughter, Liana was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2011. We are a CRA registered charity aiming to raise funds to help researchers and institutions find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

We believe that transparency and accountability with our donors is imperative and essential to reaching our goal. There are thousands of children and adults struggling with this disease who deserve to live full, healthy lives. We are determined to making Liana’s dream and the dream of many others for a cure become a reality.

Our sole objective is to find cure for Type 1 Diabetes as opposed to research aimed at testing better forms of insulin, needles, insulin pumps and glucose meters. We fund cure based research around the world for basic science and clinical trials.

What We Do:

LDF raises Funds that will support researchers and institutions in Canada, the USA and around the globe who are focused on cure-based research and who share our vision of a world where children and young adults like Liana can say: “I used to have diabetes”. We believe that in order to achieve our goal, we need to fulfill the researchers funding gap that we’ve discovered through our contact with renowned researchers. We are strong believers of worldwide collaboration; since the inception of our foundation, we instil the collaboration amongst doctors and researchers around the world.
